Hospital Doodle

There's no Zentangling Through the Bible today as I am away from home (where my pattern library is) with my daughter in hospital.  She's doing well and will be released later today so Zentangling Through the Bible will return next week.

While she's been in hospital we have both collaborated on a drawing to cheer her up.  The drawing had to feature an owl, she loves them and I thought we needed heaps of smiling faces.  This is what I've come up with, aptly named "Hospital Doodle".   For any kid doing it tough in hospital, we hope you get well soon and we give thanks to God for the nurses.  Enjoy the day friends xx

Until next Sunday when Zentangling Through the Bible returns

Zentangling Through The Bible - Book 35 - Habakkuk

This week we're up to Book 35 of the Bible, Habakkuk and I have to say, I love this book and it's practicality.  I've found it to be very grounding and that has helped when anxieties have set in.  I believe  there's nothing better than something grounding you when you are in a fight with your emotions and Habakkuk has done that for me more than once.  It was a challenge to use three different K patterns this week, here's what I've used;

H - Heartstrings by Helen Williams
A - Antidots by Anita Roby-Lavery, CZT
B - Bunzo by Zentangle
A - Arckles by Suzanne Wilka, CZT
K - Keeko by Zentangle
K - Keenees by Donna Hornsby, CZT
U - Up n Down by Kathy Barringer, CZT
K - Kuke by Katy Abbott, CZT

Until next week

[1] I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how he will answer my complaint.

Diva's Weekly Challenge #204

It's that time of year again and The Diva has let us tangle our hearts away.   This weeks challenge is to "Valentangle", in other words, tangle something for Valentine's Day.  I've created a heart full of hearts.  I love the thought of an infinite heart (God's heart), a heart that's full of hearts, that's full of hearts, that's full of hearts and so on, a never ending heart that gives never ending love.  I couldn't create the depth I wanted in this tile, to showcase the infinity I've described, and I don't think I will ever be able to.  You will need to close your eyes and imagine it, it's mind blowing when you really think about it.

Happy Valentine's Day and much love to you all.

Zentangling Through The Bible - Book 34 - Nahum

This week we're up to the book of Nahum for the Zentangling Through The Bible Challenge.  I've used the pattern Nzeppel in this weeks tile and you can tell it's my first time using the pattern.  It's a little scratchy in places, but I like the effect of the pattern.

Here's all of the patterns I've used this week;

N - Nzeppel by Zentangle
A - Antidots by Anita Roby-Lavery, CZT
H - Hepmee by Catole Ohl, CZT
U - Up n Down by Kathy Barringer, CZT
M - Mak-Rah-Mee by the ever amazing, Michele Beauchamp, CZT

Until next week

The "Alphabet Collection" continues

The Letter B took me so much longer than I had anticipated.  It wasn't due to time, I had plenty of it, it was because of the weather.  I live in the "tropics" of Australia and it has been tropical (to say the least)!  Believe me when I say, it has been so hot and humid that you can easily work up a sweat doing NOTHING!!  This is definately not the best weather for working with paper, so I have had to hold off on things until the weather improved.  About a week ago the weather changed and I was able to get back into it full on.  Better late than never hey?

This Letter B was drawn using Unipin Fine Line Markers, Copic Ciao Markers and shaded using Derwent Graphic 12 pencils. The original was drawn on 180GSM Acid Free premium drawing paper.   This is part of a collection of mongram letters (the alphabet) that fuse graffiti and zentangle inspired art together.  The colour work in graffiti is sublime and the elegance of zentangle is beautiful. Creating a collection where they work together, side by side, is unique, different and something I've wanted to do for a while.  Prints, t-shirts, phone cases and other goodies are available through my stores with Society6 and Redbubble.

We are halfway through this challenge!  Micah is book 33 of the Bible, so we are at the halfway point.  It's taken a while to get here.  We started this challenge on Sunday, 15 June 2014 so it's taken over six months to get to this far and I've loved every bit of it.  To God be the glory.

M - Mooka by Zentangle
I - Ionic by Margaret Bremner, CZT
C - Crusade by Wayne Harlow, CZT
A - Antidots by Anita Roby-Lavery, CZT

Micah 6:8 NLT
No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
