Tackle It Tuesday - Brought to you by the Letter "E"

Tackle it Tuesday at Cheryl's Artful Creations challenged us to use Tangle Patterns beginning with "E" this week.  I've used "Ennies", "Escalator", "Equerre", "EMingle" & "Echoism".  I'd like to think I've given you a glimpse into zentangle world, you reach it by taking the Escalator :)

The Week That Was

Introducing my new Collection called "The Week That Was".  This zentangle drawing is for the week ending 28 March 2014, highlighting things that were important and of an affect to me personally.  I'd like to finish by dedicating my first drawing to those aboard flight MH370.  My thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones left behind.  May those lost they rest in peace.

It's a String Thing #33

Oh how I loved this week's string!  The possibilities were endless, it's such a versatile string!  Thanks to Adele at Tickled to Tangle for the Challenge.

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #160

"String Theory - Spiral Out, Keep Going" was the theme for this weeks Challenge with The Diva.  I've never thought of using a big spiral as a string, but there's a first for everything.  I'm really loving shading at the moment, playing around with shadows and highlights, again, I'm happy with the depth I've obtained in this tile.
Thanks Diva for the workout!

Zentangle Weekly Challenge #1

Here's my "Tic Tac Toe" 9 square tile to kick of the Zentangle Weekly Challenge at Made by Joey.  I've used quite a few tangle patterns, "Mooka", "Crescent Moon", "Yincut", "Isochor", "Hollibaugh", a variation on "Cadent" and there's a couple more I don't know names for. The shading created great depth and I'm happy with the perpective I've ended up achieving in this tile.  I'd like to congratulate Joey on her maiden Challenge, and I look forward to participating in many more.

Tickled to Tangle - "It's a String Thing #32"

Hi all, it's a week of new challenges for Chrissie Murphy Designs, and this is the first "It's a String Thing" Challenge I've done with Adele Bruno at Tickled to Tangle.  Quite challenging it was too using only tangle patterns containing a W & R to honour Jadie Wright who created the string.  I've used "Warble", "Warts & Wobbles", "Wired" and the "Worms" tangle patterns.  I'll be back next week Adele :)

Tackle it Tuesday - Brought to you by the letter "D"

I'm slowly getting the hang of these zentangle tiles.  Compared to the paper I normally draw on, these tiles are very different, I'm falling more and more into love with them though.  Here's my entry for Tackle It Tuesday at Cheryl's Artful Creations, this week focusing on "D" tangle patterns.  I've used "Dooleedo", "D-Vine", "Drupe" and "D-Nebula".  I had to finish it off with some "Tipple" for balance (so I like to tell myself) hehe :)

First Time I've Used a Zentangle Tile!

Erin at The Bright Owl is having a break so for the time being, there's no Zendala Dare until further notice.  I thought  I might spend some time brushing up on Zentangle Theory (if that's what you call it!!).  I have downloaded the TanglePatterns.com "Tangle Guide 2014 Edition" and I am working my way through "One Zentangle a Day" by Beckah Krahula, and I'm taking my time.  Starting next Monday, I will begin sharing what I'm up to.  Today though I thought I would share my first zentangle tile!  This is the first zentangle I have done on an actual zentangle tile.  It looks like a first go too hah!

Freestyle Friday - Diva's Weekly Challenge #158

Aah, it's Friday!  Time to post my effort at the Diva's Weekly Challenge.  What a challenge this week was too!  "Duo Tangle", create a zentangle drawing using only two tangle patterns, "Diva Dance" and "Crescent Moon".  For me, this was easier said than done, but I've come up with something I'm happy with.  I know that since I've started participating in the Diva's Weekly Challenge, I have really stepped out of my comfort zone where zentangling is concerned and I'm grateful to the Diva for the growth I'm seeing in my craft.
Stay beautiful and enjoy the weekend

The Hump Day Honours!

Hello everyone.  The last couple of zentangle drawings I have done of animals, the koala and the tiger, were from templates designed by Ben Kwok.  Ben is an artist I admire very much, and I have been inspired by his work to try and have a go at my own zentangled animal.  For those of you who don't know I am a mad Alaska fan, I adore so much about Alaska, it's a place of breathtaking scenery and has some of the world's best wildlife (in my humble opinion!).    One of my favourite animals from Alaska is the moose and I wanted to try and zentangle one.  This is what I've come up with.  Hope you like it!

Living Life One Zentangle at a Time - The Koala is done!!

This is the second template I have completed from Ben Kwok's Facebook Group, Ornation Creation.  I find I am learning so many new things as I do these templates and the results are fantastic!  This little guy has taken about 14 hours, he took longer than the tiger, but I love him just as much <3  The longer I spend on a zentangle drawing, the more in love with the drawing I become.

Sunday Love

Number 8 in my series reflecting on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.  I don't know about you, but as I've been working my way through these verses I realise how much I fall short on each and every one.  Today's, particularly so.  I pray that God will help me and those I've irritated will forgive me.

Freestyle Friday - Diva's Weekly Challenge #157

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #157, "Use My Tangle Monday".  This week the Diva challenged us to use the Tangle Pattern "Charlie" in our tiles.  For a pattern that I found fairly simple, I had difficulty incorporating it into my drawing.  I've combined it with a variation on the "Yew-Dee" Tangle Pattern, "Yincut", "Angel Fish" and "Maelstrom" Tangle Patterns.

There's no Monday's Mandala today, but......

Good morning everyone.  There's no Monday's Mandala this week as a zendala dare wasn't released at The Bright Owl.  Instead I thought I might share my tiger.  This was created from a template drawn by Ben Kwok at Ornation Creation, a Facebook Group.  I am a huge fan of Ben's work and I aspire to be as good as he is one day.  It has taken me 12 hours to finish the zentangle drawing, the longest I've ever worked on one project and I have loved every minute of it.  I'm hooked and I'm going to start another one as soon as!!
Enjoy your week everyone

Sunday Love

Hello everyone.  This is drawing number seven in my series reflecting on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, a fairly simple zentangle drawing, using the "Cubine" tangle pattern, I'm not sure of what the spiral pattern inside the heart is called.  Enjoy your Sunday, give God some praise!!
