Freestyle Friday - Diva's Weekly Challenge #152

It feels really different to do a drawing using a Tangle Pattern that someone else has challenged you to use.  This week, the Diva's Weekly Challenge asked participants to use a new Zentangle Pattern called "Aquafleur".  If I'm honest, I think it would have taken me a while to get around to trying this new pattern on my own, I had seen it out there recently and it wasn't something I was wanting to tangle.  Now that I've completed my drawing, I love the result!  How great does this tangle pattern look!  A big thank you to the Diva for prompting me to step out of my comfort zone.  Note, there's no "Tipple"!!

Monday's Mandala - Zendala Dare #88

Hi everyone.  Another week another Zendala Dare with The Bright Owl, this is my entry for Zendala Dare #88.  I've used some patterns that I don't know the names of this week, the only tangle pattern I know in this drawing is "Tipple", I use it everywhere!!  If any CZT's know the names of the patterns I've used, please leave a comment and let me know.

Happy Australia Day!

Standing at the limit of an endless ocean
Stranded like a runaway, lost at sea
City on a rainy day, down in the harbor
Watching as the gray clouds shadow the bay

Looking everywhere 'cause I had to find you
This is not the way that I remember it here
Anyone will tell you, it's a prisoner island
Hidden in the summer for a million years

Great southern land

Freestyle Friday - Diva's Weekly Challenge #151

Hi everyone, here is my zentangle drawing for the Diva's Weekly Challenge #151.  This week is Moebius Syndrome Awareness Week and participants in the Weekly Challenge were asked to tangle the Foundation's logo for Moebius Syndrome.  Moebius Syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that is present at birth.  It primarily affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves, leaving those with the condition unable to move their faces (they can't smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink their eyes) and are unable to move their eyes laterally.  More information about Moebius Syndrome is available at http://www.moebiussyndrome.com/.  In this drawing I used the "Amalea" Tangle Pattern.

Zendala Dare #87

Hi everyone, here's my attempt at this week's Zendala Dare #87 with The Bright Owl.  It is the first time I have used one pattern for an entire zendala.  I have used a variation of the "Thumbprintz" Tangle Pattern and on paper, I love the effect, however, once photographed some of the illusionary effect in the pattern is lost.

Freestyle Friday - DIVA Challenge #150 One Little Word

Hi everyone, here's my first drawing for the Diva Challenge #150 One Little Word.  We were invited to tangle about one little word for our year, a word that would be the focus of our 2014.  For me, I feel that 2014 is a year about "trust".  It will be a year about putting trust into practice, a year in which I learn to trust in myself and God for things yet to come.  In this tangle I have tried to showcase the "Glace" tangle pattern. As always, I welcome your feedback, feel free to leave a comment.

Zendala Dare #86 - Grateful

Hi everyone, this is my first Zendala Dare with The Bright Owl, Zendala Dare #86 - Grateful.  We were invited to fill a frame template with something we were grateful for.  I gave this quite a bit of thought and I realised that I am really grateful for friends.  I have some great friends who are truly amazing, they are so supportive, encouraging and only too willing to help in times of need.  I am so very grateful for each and every one of them and I consider it one of God's greatest blessings to have friends in your life.

Freestyle Friday - "Wondering"

Today's Freestyle Friday drawing is called "Wondering".  Wondering is how I feel when I draw, I am in a state of wonder.   I truly have to give God all the glory for the work of my hands, as He is the one who instills such a sense of wonder within me.  Today's drawing uses the Class-EE and Cubine tangle patterns.  A personal goal of mine this year is to start naming tangle patterns, and perhaps even create a few of my own.

Freestyle Friday - "Cushioned"

Freestyle Friday continues in 2014 with this drawing I've called "Cushioned".  I wanted to draw a soft place to fall, a place where you feel comfort and contentment.  With those thoughts in mind, this is what I produced.  Please feel free to share or post your comments on any of my blog posts, I love hearing your feedback.
