"Mechanical Heart"

I have finally finished my drawing called "Mechanical Heart".  It's of heart that's just going through the motions, a heart that's cold and slowly falling apart.  There is someone who has a key to the heart, and that's my Saviour, Jesus, he's the one who changed my cold, mechanical heart into one one that's bursting with warmth and light.

It's A String Thing #46

It's been a while since I participated in a String Thing Challenge.  I have had quite a few birthdays and celebrations that I worked on gifts for, so I've been busy.  It's great to sink my teeth into one of these challenges again.  Absolutely every tangle pattern I have used in this tile is a first!  I have never used them before, so I was sooooo out of my comfort zone, it shows too haha!  As I was working on the tile I tried to get a sense of how CZT Sue Jacobs felt when she created the patterns.  They are concise patterns, giving you a firm starting place and a clear finish.  I like that, they are very definitive.  Until next time.

Diva's Weekly Challenge #173

Diva's Weekly Challenge - "Redux, Remix and Revisit" - any challenge that I can use "Quib" is a challenge I adore.  I've tried to remix it by weaving it with another pattern and I like the affect I've achieved.  I find "Quib" to be a very freeing pattern, one that actually breathes and grows as you draw it, it's a pattern that has a life of its own.  Much loved and much adored by yours truly.

Lettering Art

Hello everyone, I have been spending some time studying different styles of art lately and I've been playing around with graffiti style lettering and some manga, Japanese anime.  I have also been concentrating on lettering, fonts and typography and tonight I thought I would share a drawing I have done of my name.  I've drawn it in Old English and combined it with tribal style graphics as a border.  I'm pleased with how it's turned out.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Diva's Weekly Challenge #170

This week the Diva challenged us to use the "Bugle" tangle pattern.  I thought it would look really cool to do "Bugle" large scale, so I've only used the pattern once, but I've filled the tile with it.  I've used "Footlites" to highlight it and have filled in the edges of "Bugle" with a pattern I use very often, but don't know the name of.  Any CZT's care to fill me in?  Thanks for another great challenge Madam Diva :)
Until next week

Sunday Love

Sunday Love - today's drawing was inspired by Job 38:24-25 MSG ..... “Can you find your way to where lightning is launched, or to the place from which the wind blows? Who do you suppose carves canyons for the downpours of rain."  Such awesome verses that showcase the mightiness of God ❤️❤️

Diva's Weekly Challenge #168

This week's Diva's Challenge, Tangleation Nation using the "Rain" tangle pattern and I've opted for something fairly simple. To me "Rain" is quite a stark pattern, it's angular and sharp and I really wanted to try and create balance and harmony between it and a polar opposite, "Printemps".  "Printemps" is full of soft flowing curves, it reaches into every ounce of space, such an opposite to "Rain".  I think I've achieved the balance and harmony I was looking for, thanks Diva for the challenge!

The Week That Was - W/E 16/05/2014

The Week That Was - W/E 16/05/2014 - Dedicated this week to in remembrance of one of the world's most talented artists, HR Giger. HR Giger was best known for the design of the famous creature, the alien, from the Ridley Scott film with the same name. His work was exceptional, full of detail, his intricacies and design concepts were out of this world. For me it is a pleasure to study and adore on his work, his technique is amazing. May he continue to live on through his art, may he rest in peace.

The Week That Was - W/E 25/04/2014

This week's drawing is dedicated to those who have served, and those who are serving, many of whom have paid the ultimate price, to secure the freedom we know today.  Thank you.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Diva's Weekly Challenge #164

The Diva's Challenge for this week was to take some inspiration from our Earth as we celebrated Earth Day this week.  There are a lot of people and organisations working together to do great work for our planet. I personally admire John Butler who has worked passionately as an advocate for the environment, "his guitar is his cannon".  John says we have to "Treat Yo Mama With Respect" and with that playing as I draw, I'm inspired to zentangle.

Happy Easter!! Made by Joey Weekly Zentangle Challenge #4

Happy Easter Everyone!!  Here's my best shot at drawing an Easter Egg.  Joey challenged us to have an egg in our tile, use four zentangle patterns, and the "Warped Eggs" tangle pattern was to be used as well.  A challenge like that always takes me back to basics, stringing out a tile, and letting patterns fall into place from there.  I've used "Warped Eggs" on the egg, "Cubine", "Chemystery", "Pokeroot" and "Crescent Moon".
Enjoy this special time, I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

It's a String Thing #36

Adele Bruno's "It's A String Thing" Challenges continue to be the ones I find most challenging.  Every week I find I am pushing all of my boundaries, turning the tile numerous times before I feel where I want to go.  That's not to mention the tangle choices!  Each and every week there are new tangle patterns, one's I've never used before, and this week, I'm using "Buttercup" and "Bunzo" for the very first time.  I love the pshychadelic feeling of "Bunzo"!  "Bubbles" is a favourite tangle pattern of mine, I use it often, but in this week's challenge, I felt the tile only needed a couple of "Bubbles", just bursting from the top of the tile.
Until I'm challenged again next week, Stay beautiful
